Chester Medical School is seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team as a Lecturer in Clinical Biochemistry or Clinical Genetics

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of our growing programmes in Biomedical Science and Medical Science.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide a supportive learning environment for students, helping them develop both graduate-level and subject-specific skills.
  • Deliver teaching in areas such as biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, oncology.
  • Contribute to independent and collaborative research activities, with opportunities to work with NHS partners and other health providers.
  • Supervise research dissertations at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Qualifications

  • A good first degree in Biomedical Science or a related field.
  • A Master's level qualification is essential.
  • PGCert in Higher Education or Fellowship of the HEA (or willingness to achieve this).

Experience and Skills

  • Expertise to deliver lectures in clinical biochemistry, genetics and related subjects.
  • Previous teaching experience in higher education.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues, lead module and programme development, and provide high-quality pastoral support to students.
