We are now recruiting 3 experienced Careers and Employability Consultants to join our innovative and committed team.

As a Careers and Employability Consultant, you will:

  • Partner with academic teams to embed career development and employability within the curriculum.
  • Deliver expert one-to-one and group guidance, workshops, and engaging content tailored to diverse student needs.
  • Lead on curriculum-linked employability initiatives and advise on embedding real-world, experiential learning approaches.
  • Use your insights and data to evaluate impact and shape best practice across the institution.
  • Contribute to Chester’s Citizen Student Strategy – ensuring every student has equal access to opportunities that build social capital and career readiness.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including employers, alumni, and academic departments to support sustainable graduate success.

We are seeking a proactive and forward-thinking careers professional who:

  • Holds a recognised professional qualification in careers guidance (e.g. QCG, DipCG, CEIGHE) or has substantial experience in delivering careers-related education and support.
  • Has experience in higher education careers services or graduate recruitment.
  • Understands the evolving graduate labour market and the employability challenges facing diverse student groups.
  • Has exceptional communication skills, strong digital literacy, and the ability to engage, inspire and influence at all levels.
  • Is confident using data and digital platforms to enhance service delivery and student engagement.
  • Brings a collaborative, inclusive mindset with a strong commitment to equity, diversity and belonging.

Generous holiday allowance: 22 days' annual leave, rising to 27 days after five years of continuous service, plus Bank/Public Holidays and additional Christmas closure days.
