We’re looking for a Customer Services Assistant to join our Learning and Information Services (LIS) team at the University of Chester, based at Marriss House in Birkenhead. This role is ideal for someone that is keen to work in a library environment, where you will have the opportunity to work with books and learning resources, help people navigate university life, and create calm welcoming spaces for learning and socialising.
Responsibilities
- Support the day‑to‑day running of the library, learning resources and study spaces.
- Provide friendly, approachable assistance to students and staff; help with borrowing and returning items; shelve and maintain book stock; and ensure the library remains an organised, inviting environment.
- Answer enquiries, assist users with finding books and resources, and help students feel confident using the library.
- Work closely with customer services colleagues to deliver a positive library experience.
Working pattern
This is a part‑time role, working Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, and Friday. Occasional travel to other University sites may be required, as well as occasional shift changes.
