Job Title: Bar/Catering Assistants

Location: Exton Park Campus, University of Chester

Contract Duration: September 2025 – July 2026

Hours of Work: To be confirmed

The University of Chester operates licensed premises on Exton Park, offering a warm and welcoming space for students and staff. Our venues host a wide variety of events – from relaxed acoustic nights to large-scale club events featuring international artists.

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Bar/Catering Assistants to join our team, providing excellent service to our campus community.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering a friendly, efficient, and professional service to all customers
  • Preparing and serving drinks to a high standard
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in bar, catering, and storage areas
  • Communicating effectively with the Bar Manager, Catering Manager, colleagues, and customers
  • Assisting with stock replenishment and bar organisation during busy periods
  • Following licensing laws and standard procedures, including refusing service where appropriate
  • Supporting the promotion of events via social media (occasionally)
  • Assisting in training new colleagues when required
  • Ensuring knowledge of drink ingredients, menus, and allergen information
  • Adhering to health and safety standards, including safe lifting practices and using hearing protection in noisy environments
