The Faculty of Classics is seeking to appoint a temporary Teaching Associate in Latin literature for a 12‑month term starting 1 October 2026 (or soon after).
Key responsibilities include:
- Teaching Latin literature at all levels from beginner to postgraduate, and facilitating exams including setting and marking language/translation papers.
- Supervising and examining MPhil students.
- Participating in the administration and life of the Faculty, and working collaboratively as part of a team.
Required qualifications, skills and experience:
- Good first degree and a doctorate in a relevant subject area (or clear evidence that completion of such a doctorate is imminent).
- Evidence of engagement in high‑level research in Classical Latin literature, with publications and scholarly activity commensurate with stage of career.
- Evidence of ability to teach Latin language.
- Capacity to play an effective role in the Faculty's life and work.
- Teamwork skills.
