We are looking for a well-organised person to provide comprehensive administrative support to small panel of 5 Professors and to their respective research groups when required. In addition, the role holder will be the principal manager of the Department's Mifare Card Entry System.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The role holder will be able to prioritise and manage their own workload, sometimes against competing deadlines, and possess a high level of patience, tact, discretion, and confidentiality. They will be required to work both independently, acting on their own initiative, as well as part of a small support team. An aptitude for team working and excellent communication is crucial.

  • Diary management
  • Coordination of schedules
  • Organising visits, seminars and lectures
  • Arranging meetings both internally and externally with international participants
  • Minute taking
  • Liaising with members of the Department, University and external organisations
  • Arranging travel and accommodation
  • Recruitment and possibly financial management will be required

Ideally educated to A level standard or equivalent, the successful candidate will possess excellent IT skills including extensive knowledge of iOS software, website maintenance and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint). A familiarity with Microsoft Teams is also essential, as is experience of managing a Mifare Card Entry System.
