We have an exciting opportunity to join this busy department in a key role as a Laboratory Purchasing and Facilities Technician which underpins activities within our research laboratories based in the hospital. The successful candidate will support the Laboratory & Facilities Coordinator in the oversight and management of procurement of goods and other services on behalf of the Department and/or research groups in order to ensure smooth running of the Goods-in Store's service.

You will monitor stocks of compressed gases, liquid nitrogen, dry ice, including with assisting a liquid nitrogen Cell Bank, oversee glass washing and waste stream disposal (clinical, WEEE, chemical etc).

In house training will be provided to have significant hands-on experience in facilities support and to gain working experience within a laboratory and hospital setting.

This is a very varied role where no two days are the same, so we are looking for someone who can be adaptable and remain calm in situations where priorities can change at short notice.

The role involves some manual handling and so a good level of physical fitness is essential.
