We are recruiting an IT Technical Project Manager who can work in a fast changing and developing environment that requires continual enhancement of knowledge and skills. You will need excellent team and stakeholder management skills and knowledge of a variety of software development methods (e.g. Agile, Iterative, Waterfall) as well as experience of working on projects with significant information governance requirements and delivering solutions with security by design in environments handling sensitive or clinical data to succeed in this role.

About the Job
The role has responsibility for the application of appropriate Project Management (PM) methods and processes to be used across the end-to-end life cycle of assigned projects within NIHR BioResource. This will require the application of a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience, to ensure the professional management of projects from initial concept through to operational deployment and the realisation of business benefits. Projects will be delivered under the supervision of the Senior Programme Manager, and close working with the Head of Research Data & Technology and the IT Manager.
The role will require an ability to understand technical issues and solutions as well as the day-to-day management of a varied range of projects, varying in scale and complexity from small, simple enhancements, through to larger enhancements and deployments. In addition, the role holder may also be assigned more complex or strategically focused BioResource wide projects to support Senior Managers or Section Leads. The role holder must be able to adopt flexible and appropriate PM approaches most suited to the needs of each.
About You
- Educated to degree level, or equivalent vocational qualification
- A logical, pragmatic approach to project management and the ability to adapt a project management approach to meet the needs of any required delivery process
- Demonstrable experience of applying project methodologies involving multi-disciplinary development and operational teams in a software development environment.

This appointment is full-time, 37 hours per week; part-time to 80% will be considered. Work-life balance is important, and we are open to discussion on flexible working, including hybrid working. The post is available on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2028 in the first instance. NIHR BioResource is funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR) on a 4-year funding cycle.
Our offices are on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus CB2 0QQ (approximately 2 miles south of the city centre).
