St John's College, one of the largest Colleges within the University of Cambridge, is seeking to appoint a Gyp (Housekeeping Assistant) to ensure public areas are cleaned to the required standard and to transport and distribute items such as furniture and deliveries in a efficient and effective manner to members of the College, their guests and visitors.
The postholder will help maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation across College buildings and shared properties, including cleaning public areas, collecting rubbish, carrying out periodic deep cleans and supporting end-of-term cleaning. The role also involves assisting with furniture moves and event set-ups, maintaining furniture stores, reporting maintenance issues and carrying out minor repairs where appropriate. The postholder will work flexibly as part of the wider Housekeeping team, providing cover across different areas and supporting other duties as required.
