As a member of the department's Professional Services Team, you will provide essential high-level reception and administrative services to help support our operational objectives. The post holder will act as the first point of contact in the department of Public Health and Primary Care providing a professional and customer-focused reception service and general administrative support to staff and visitors.

Duties include:

  • Greeting visitors
  • Responding to straightforward queries
  • Photocopying
  • Preparing documents
  • Assisting with meeting arrangements and room bookings

The post holder will provide administrative support in the area of Health and Safety supporting the Deputy Business and Operations Manager with Health and Safety governance and initiatives. The successful candidate will possess exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise a diverse and changing workload. The ability to pay attention to detail and work to a high level of accuracy is essential in this role.

We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills and can communicate with a wide range of individuals including internal and external parties. An individual who is pro-active and service-oriented, able to use their own initiative as well as adhering to the collaborative environment that our department fosters.

Candidates must be educated to GCSE level/NVQ level 2 or have equivalent level of practical experience, including a minimum requirement of English and Mathematics at grade C/Level 4 or above. Previous experience of working in Higher Education would be beneficial but is not essential.

This is a part-time position offering 35 hours per week across five days, Monday to Friday. Working hours will be 8.30 am to 4.00 pm. £24,685 - £27,319 pro-rata. Funding for the role is currently for 2 years from commencement in post. The role holder will be based in both the East Forvie Building, Robinson Way, CB2 0SR and Strangeways Research Laboratory, Worts Causeway, CB1 8RN (approx 2 miles south of city centre).
