The Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join our team who shares our commitment to improve policy making through the more effective use of evidence and expertise. Since 2009, CSaP has been a leader in the UK in building a core network of several thousand researchers and public policy professionals spanning academia and public service. CSaP is recruiting a Project Coordinator to help deliver a major ESRC-funded initiative that will reshape how research informs public policy across the UK. EvEx brings together seven leading universities and national partners to create a cutting-edge Digital Campus and new models of learning and exchange for public and civil servants, with an ambition to engage thousands of researchers, and civil and public servants, over three and a half years.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive delivery across a national consortium, transforming a high-level business plan into impactful workstreams, timelines and milestones.
  • Help shape and launch the Digital Campus, develop practical toolkits and training for universities, and support flagship Policy Fellowship programmes and a national Research Programme Policy Exchange.
  • Design and deliver high-impact workshops, sandpits and labs that connect researchers with decision makers to address real-world policy challenges.
  • Lead programme communications and digital engagement, work with senior public and civil servants and academic partners, and use CRM and data to evidence impact.
  • Support budget oversight and performance reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Experience of working in higher education or policy, with strong organisational and financial skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience of events, digital content and CRM systems.
  • Good understanding of the research-policy interface and a genuine interest in public policy.
  • Bachelors degree, or equivalent professional experience, is essential.
  • Some UK travel and occasional evening work will be required.

Contract and Availability:

The funds for this post are available for 3.5 years in the first instance.
