The Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies is seeking an enthusiastic and versatile person with strong outreach and communication skills to join our team in this fixed term, full-time role. As Outreach Administrator, you will work with colleagues across the Faculty, providing support for internal and external communications activity aimed at prospective students as well as teachers, schools, and the wider public.
The postholder acts as Webmaster for the Faculty webpages, updating and maintaining the site in line with Faculty and University requirements and analysing its use by those who visit it; develops social media activity on different platforms, supporting colleagues to contribute as appropriate; produces and edits high-quality videos as appropriate; and supports communications-related projects.
Responsibilities- Support internal and external communications activity aimed at prospective students, teachers, schools, and the wider public.
- Act as Webmaster for the Faculty webpages: update and maintain the site in line with Faculty and University requirements and analyse site usage.
- Develop social media activity on different platforms and support colleagues in contributing to it.
- Produce and edit high-quality videos as appropriate and support communications-related projects.
- Support the delivery of Open Days and outreach events with Academic Outreach leads; assist in designing information leaflets and materials.
- Liaise with the Cambridge Admissions Office, other Faculties, and College SLOs to promote outreach activities; be present at outreach events as required.
- Manage data retention, evaluation, and feedback for statistical purposes.
- Maintain a strong and positive profile with stakeholders; act as the key contact for outreach and communications, as part of the Faculty administration team.
- Well-organised and adaptable self-starter with excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in creating digital content, including videos, and some experience in digital communications.
- Experience working with web content management systems; able to manage competing priorities and switch between tasks to meet deadlines.
- Collaborative approach with colleagues, documenting processes, sharing good practice, and facilitating continuous improvement.
