The Department of Clinical Neurosciences is a large progressive academic research Department studying the nervous system to find new treatments for neurological disorders such as Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. Our researchers also study neurosurgical topics, addressing care and patient support for those affected by traumatic brain injury and disorders of the nervous system. Research from the Department has real life impact, and we now have an exciting opportunity for a candidate to support this impact in the position of Finance Manager.
Responsibilities
- Working in close liaison with the Department Business Management Team, the Finance Manager will manage all finance matters such as the costing, monitoring and reporting of the department's multi-million-pound research grant budgets, department core and Major Research Facility budgets and extensive general ledger activity.
- They will collaborate with finance colleagues internally and externally to the University to deliver efficient and friendly finance support.
- This successful applicant will be an accomplished finance professional, comfortable with the complexities of the University finance systems and able to lead the Department Finance Team as they make improvements to their financial procedures.
- Moreover, they will be adept at advising and supporting staff and ensuring a positive working experience for their team.
- The role is based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and on confirmation of your appointment, the successful candidate will adopt the Department's hybrid working model, consisting of days of work at home and days of work alongside other members of the Operations Team on site.
