The Faculties of Economics and History wish to appoint a full time Accounts Assistant. The role will be based in the Faculty of Economics but will work part of the week in the Faculty of History.
The Faculty of Economics at the University of Cambridge is one of the leading and longest standing economics faculties in Europe. We are a dynamic, friendly and exciting place to work, and we have approximately 100 staff members and we maintain and grow our global reputation for outstanding academic achievement and world-class original research. The Faculty of History employs 100 academic staff and constitutes one of the largest and best history departments in the world.
Responsibilities
- Undertake the administration of accounts and maintain financial records within the Faculty of Economics and Faculty of History to provide a high-quality accounting function, and ensure the Faculties remain compliant with the University's financial regulations, and adhere to University financial procedures at all times.
- Be the first point of contact for financial matters and liaise with staff at all levels in both Faculties, dealing with staff, student and supplier queries.
- Ensure the prompt and accurate provision of accounting information and guidance.
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar accounts position and ability to demonstrate confidence using Microsoft Office and financial software and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills and a flexible, adaptable approach to work.
- Ability to prioritise efficiently and meet rigid deadlines on a regular basis.
