The University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP) is a systemwide academic program that offers international academic experiences to students, inspiring them to explore and transform their lives, UC, and the world. Since 1962, UCEAP has served over 100,000 students across all ten UC campuses and more than 50,000 Reciprocity students. Committed to excellence and diversity, UCEAP promotes an inclusive environment and maintains high standards of academic and operational excellence. The UCEAP London Study Center supports approximately 500 students annually at 12 partner institutions across England.
Position Details
- Gross Annual Compensation Range: £45,000-53,000 (including LWA and on-call pay)
- Employment Type: Full-time, 35 hours/week

Job Description
Reporting to the UCEAP Associate Program Director in California, the Program Manager provides local leadership and oversight of UCEAP study center administration and academic programs in London. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with local operations, serving as the main contact for students, managing emergency support rotations, and liaising with host universities, government agencies, and other stakeholders. The role requires fostering strong relationships, leading communications, and addressing program administration, policies, and student welfare issues.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of responsible experience in higher education program administration and student services, including 2 years in project management or team leadership
- Advanced professional English skills (CERF level C1 or higher)
- Strong interpersonal, intercultural, and communication skills
- Leadership and conflict resolution abilities
- Experience with emergency planning and safety issues
- Knowledge of US and UK higher education systems
- Proficiency with MS Office, cloud platforms, and virtual meeting tools
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines
- Legal authorization to work in the UK without sponsorship
- Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings/weekends
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in study abroad administration
- First Aid and Mental Health First Aid certification
- Financial software proficiency (e.g., QuickBooks)
- International study or work experience
- Staff supervision and personnel management experience

- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- Availability for occasional evening/weekend work and on-call rotations
