Health & Safety Advisor – University of Buckingham

Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional who thrives on identifying risks, driving compliance and delivering practical solutions?

The University of Buckingham is seeking a motivated Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of a robust compliance and risk management framework across a complex and varied estate.

This role offers the opportunity to work across academic facilities, student accommodation, offices, hospitality venues, sports facilities and historic buildings, helping to ensure that the University continues to meet the highest standards of health, safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
  • Support departments with risk assessments and safety management systems.
  • Advise senior managers on health and safety risks and compliance obligations.
  • Support contractor management and monitoring arrangements.
  • Investigate incidents and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
  • Deliver health and safety training and awareness initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience within a Health & Safety compliance or advisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience conducting audits and risk assessments.
  • Ability to analyse complex information and provide practical recommendations.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Holding, or working towards, a NEBOSH qualification.
