Job Opportunity: Strength & Conditioning Coach at the University of Bristol
The University of Bristol is excited to be appointing a Strength & Conditioning Coach to continue to develop our student-athletes and clubs.
Working under the guidance of the Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach, the role will assist the delivery of our Strength and Conditioning programme to our #WeAreBristol Performance Clubs.
The role will work with 2-3 clubs, with the main responsibility to deliver and coach the S&C provision to Men’s Rugby, aiming to achieve strategic targets in line with our partnership with Bristol Bears Rugby.
Collaborating with the Performance team, coaching community, and support staff, this role will contribute to the division\’s wider goals; helping all athletes achieve their potential. The role involves coaching and delivering long-term athlete development to meet individual, club, and divisional targets, including BUCS Top 10, where the University has been ranked for the last 8 years.
Responsibilities
- Coach, plan, and deliver S&C support to our Performance Sports at the University of Bristol, following our S&C philosophy and aims, under the direction of the Lead S&C Coach.
- Manage 2-3 clubs, including Men’s Rugby.
- Work with Head Coaches and Lead S&C Coach to maximize S&C impact at both individual and team levels.
- Create a people-focused, aspirational training environment to help athletes succeed and achieve key strategic aims.
- Manage and report training data to analyze program impact, identify areas for improvement, educate athletes, and provide feedback.
Working Hours
During term-time (Aug to early Dec and Jan to May): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday evenings, and Saturday mornings. Outside of term, hours align with normal working hours.
Qualifications and Skills
We seek a people-focused, energetic, and solution-driven individual to enhance our Performance team and elevate our clubs and S&C provision.
Applicants should demonstrate experience and significant impact in long-term athlete development environments, with the ability to collaborate, take initiative, problem-solve, and improve performance.
Applicants must be UKSCA accredited or able to achieve accreditation within 6 months.
