We are looking for an experienced maker with a passion for educating the next generation of engineers. Your skills will include the latest rapid prototyping technology, enhancing excellent hands-on engineering teaching. You will supervise teaching spaces supporting a varied user base, delivering training and support for a variety of equipment, liaising with stakeholders, planning for futuresessionsand providing support for the best possible practical teaching in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

What will you be doing?

  • Working as the first point of contact for students and academics regarding the teaching space.
  • Supervising teaching space, including consumable levels, practical support, inductions and maintenance.
  • Liaising with academic staff to provide ongoing support to current and future practical taught lessons.
  • Supporting other areas of the team as and when required.
  • Reacting and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Ensuring safe/good working practices in the teaching space.
  • Maintaining rapid prototyping equipment for student use..

You should apply if

  • You enjoy working with young people to enable them to reach their potential.
  • You have hands on experience with rapid prototyping tools and equipment.
  • You have experience in the use and maintenance of new equipment including
  • laser cutters and 3D printers
  • You know how to work safely in an engineering environment.
  • You have experience of teaching or coaching, ideally in an educational context

Contract type: Fixed-term until31/01/2028 (cover position)
