The University of Bristol’s Department of Philosophy wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Philosophy. This is a fixed-term 12-month position on Pathway 3 (primary responsibility for teaching, rather than research).
What will you be doing?
- The appointee will be expected to deliver lectures and seminars at undergraduate and MA level.
- Mark essays and exams.
- Supervise and mark undergraduate dissertations and MA independent-study essays.
- Teach philosophical writing skills to students at various stages of undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
- Undertake any necessary teaching-related administration.
- Provide pastoral support to students.
- Participate fully in the daily life of the department.

- The appointee must have teaching and supervision specialism in Philosophy of Mathematics and competency in Philosophy of Science, or vice versa.
