The University of Bristol Business School is inviting applications for an outstanding Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Accounting on a full-time and open-ended basis. This is a key appointment within the Business School, and you will have an international research profile and reputation in the areas of Management Accounting, Accountability, and/or Sustainability Accounting.
Our School undertakes research at the intersection of business, social science, and technology, leading projects that benefit our economy, society, and planet. This type of research suits academics with disciplinary excellence who enjoy collaborating with colleagues in other fields, for example computer science, engineering, mathematics, psychology, sociology, law or health.
We welcome applications from a broad range of perspectives. The role is primarily targeted at empirical researchers, i.e., academics who use real data in their research, and/or experimental researchers, i.e., academics who use lab, field, or natural experiments, with high ambitions for their work. We care deeply about education and the student experience. We expect the candidate to provide inspiring and innovative teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate or executive levels. We are increasing our interdisciplinary programmes and therefore experience of designing programmes and teaching with colleagues from other disciplines is an advantage.
Importantly, we want to be a great place to work. Therefore, we expect candidates to have the experience and interest to mentor colleagues within the Accounting Group of the University of Bristol Business School, and to positively contribute to the leadership and development of our School and/or the wider academy.
