A technician post has become vacant at the University of Brighton within the School of Applied Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity be join a School specialising in research and education in the fields of Biology, Biomedical Science, Pharmacy, as well as Chemistry, Ecology and Conservation, Geography, and Environment.
This post will see you join an established team within the specialist Bioresources Unit, working with a range of staff and students across the Bioscience and Pharmacy departments, and gives you the opportunity to engage in a range of activities within teaching and research.
Based at our Moulsecoomb campus, you will deliver high-quality technical support to the Bioresources Unit, contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research. The role will require you to provide technical assistance to the Bioresources Team in a busy unit that specialises in medical research.
For This Role, You Should Be Able To Demonstrate
- an understanding of Health and Safety at work
- experience of working in a laboratory related setting, specialising in medical research, where you would maintain the facility to the highest standards appropriate to the area.
- clear communication skills, both orally and written
- an ability to work well as part of a team
- A willingness to undertake training, as required, that is pertinent to the field of medical research, however, in house training will be provided relating to Home Office and Health and Safety Legislation and how they relate to working within the Bioresources Unit.
