We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced applicant to join our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Primary and Education Studies team at the University of Brighton. In this fixed‑term, full‑time role based at our Falmer campus, you will join a collaborative and supportive team committed to delivering high‑quality teaching and an excellent student experience. Our ITE Primary and Education Studies provision is highly regarded, with strong student outcomes and a clear commitment to inclusive, practice‑informed learning. You will play a key role in shaping the learning of trainee teachers and education students across both subject‑specific and wider education provision.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars and workshops across ITE Primary and Education Studies provision with a focus on early years and key stage 1.
- Contribute to assessment and academic support.
- Support students in school‑based training and professional learning.
- Contribute to curriculum development and course review.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner schools.
Where possible, we align responsibilities with your strengths and interests. The role includes teaching across undergraduate, postgraduate and work‑related programmes delivered year‑round, including some evening and Saturday activity.
Qualifications
- A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
- Significant primary experience, with particular expertise in early years and key stage 1.
- Experience of supporting trainee teachers or contributing to ITE Primary (early years and key stage 1) and Education Studies provision (or extensive relevant experience).
