We are seeking to recruit an Archive Assistant / Administrator to join our Design Archives team based at Grand Parade. In this role you will have a key responsibility in the Design Archives team for providing administrative and curatorial support to the Design Archives collections and team across the range of its activities. The role requires close collaboration with all members of the team – Archive Director, Preservation & Digital Resources Co‑ordinator and Digital Content and Systems Co‑ordinator – as well as liaison with internal contacts including School Operations and Research teams, Finance and Estates. You will contribute to collection activities such as documentation and collections care, and support our research services and teaching sessions.
Job details: Permanent, part‑time (0.4 full‑time equivalent). Fully onsite, based at Design Archives on the City Campus.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrable knowledge/experience of working in an archives or collections setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build networks and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally
- The ability to work on own initiative and flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team
- High level analytical, organisational and problem‑solving skills
- Working knowledge of using databases for recording data
