Salary: £27,319 to £30,378 pro rata 6 hours per week

Fixed Term End Date: 31/05/2027

We are seeking a committed Research Support Assistant to provide technical support for a Canadian Institute of Health Research funded project. The post will be based in the Moulsecoomb campus, at the University of Brighton. You will have the opportunity to work directly on this project, undertaking sample processing for proteomics analyses.

Duties

  • Preparation, processing, and storage of samples for nLC-MS
  • nLC-MS analysis
  • Preparing reports on the analysis conducted
  • Ensuring a high standard of housekeeping in the laboratory
  • Ordering chemicals and supplies

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in biomedical science or related field, preferably with understanding of analytical techniques
  • Experience of working within a laboratory environment with competent bench skills
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Computer literacy – knowledge of Word and Excel is preferable
  • Self‑motivated

The post is part‑time funded for 1 year, however we do have some flexibility in duration and hours which can be mutually agreed within the requirements of the project. Due to the nature of this role you will be required to work on campus.
