Project Manager (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) 29.5 hours per week - Internal only in Brighton

The University of Brighton is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the operational delivery of our rapidly expanding School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) portfolio on a part time (29.5 hours per week) fixed term (36 months) contract. Following significant growth in our partnerships with schools and teacher training organisations, this is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in helping to deliver innovative teacher education programmes that combine university expertise with school-based learning.

Working across a portfolio of high-profile partnerships, you will help to ensure that programmes are delivered efficiently, compliantly and to an exceptional standard, supporting trainees, academic colleagues and partner organisations throughout the student lifecycle. This is a varied role combining project management, partnership working, operational leadership and financial oversight. You will work with senior academic staff, professional services colleagues, schools, funding organisations and external regulators to ensure our SCITT provision continues to grow successfully while maintaining the highest standards of quality and student experience.

Reporting to the Director of College Operations, you will oversee the operational management of a portfolio of School-Centred Initial Teacher Training partnerships, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with University, Department for Education and regulatory requirements.

You Will:

• Lead the day-to-day project management of multiple SCITT partnerships and programmes.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with partner schools, training providers and funding organisations.
• Coordinate complex programme activity across the University and external partners.
• Guide trainees through the administrative and operational aspects of their programme from enrolment through to qualification.
• Work with academic colleagues to adapt University processes and systems to support innovative hybrid delivery models.
• Monitor project budgets, financial performance and funding requirements.
• Ensure compliance with partnership agreements, funding conditions and quality assurance requirements.
• Produce management information and reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate assessment administration, examination board processes and student record management.
• Identify operational risks and implement effective solutions to ensure successful project delivery.

You will be an organised and proactive project manager with excellent relationship management skills and experience of coordinating complex programmes involving multiple stakeholders.

You Will Have:

• Experience of successfully managing complex projects from inception through to delivery.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience of managing budgets and monitoring financial performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to build productive partnerships across organisations.
• Experience of working within large, complex organisations and navigating multiple processes.
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• A degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience within higher education, teacher education, educational partnerships or externally funded programmes would be advantageous.
