We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced applicant to join our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Primary and Education Studies team at the University of Brighton. This fixed‑term, full‑time role is based at our Falmer campus and involves supporting the delivery of high‑quality teaching and an excellent student experience. Our ITE provision was rated “outstanding” by Ofsted in the most recent 2024 inspection. National Student Survey outcomes for our undergraduate provision in education are excellent, with all but one category above the sector average. You will play a key role in shaping the learning of trainee teachers and education students across both subject‑specific and wider education provision.
Responsibilities
- Support the Further Education team in delivering an outstanding course
- Contribute to assessment and academic support
- Support students in school‑based training and professional learning
- Contribute to curriculum development and course review
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner schools
Within the role you will develop and utilise a range of teaching methods, including lectures, seminars, tutorials, e‑learning, workshops, and individual supervision.
Qualifications
- A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification
- Experience of supporting trainee teachers or contributing to ITE
