We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Primary Science teacher to join our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Primary Science and Education Studies team at the University of Brighton. In this fixed‑term, full‑time role based at our Falmer campus, you will contribute to high‑quality teaching and student experience across undergraduate, postgraduate and work‑related programmes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars and workshops across ITE Primary Science and Education Studies provision.
- Contribute to assessment and academic support.
- Support students in school‑based training and professional learning.
- Contribute to curriculum development and course review.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner schools.
Teaching responsibilities cover undergraduate, postgraduate and work‑related programmes delivered year‑round, including some evening and Saturday activity.
Qualifications & Experience
- A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
- Significant primary experience, with particular expertise in primary science.
- Experience supporting trainee teachers or contributing to ITE Primary Science and Education Studies provision (or extensive relevant experience).
- A strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
