We are seeking two GPhC-registered pharmacists to engage in this great opportunity contributing to the development of competent Prescribers. You would deliver engaging face‑to‑face study days for foundation trainee pharmacists across the Northeast and Yorkshire. This role is primarily based in Newcastle, with occasional travel as needed.

The Foundation Training Consortium (FTC) is a partnership between the University of Bradford, Buttercups, and Imaan Healthcare. We have been commissioned by the National Health Service England Workforce, Training and Education (NHSE WTE) to provide supplementary training to all trainee pharmacists in the North of England and Midlands. The programme focuses on developing trainee pharmacists’ professionalism, clinical reasoning and decision making, leadership skills, and supporting their development as a competent prescriber and culturally competent practitioner.

What you will be doing:

  • You will support learner development and progression through performance monitoring, remote guidance, and collaboration with workplace supervisors and administration teams.
  • You will contribute to programme delivery and improvement by developing teaching materials, maintaining accurate learner records, and supporting delivery of key performance indicators.
  • You will engage in academic activity through teaching, assessment, and scholarly contribution aligned with university strategies, while managing your own workload effectively.

Qualifications/experience:

  • GPhC-registered pharmacist with an MPharm (or equivalent) and either a PhD, clinical diploma, or significant professional experience across varied pharmacy settings.
  • Experience in pharmacy education at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, with a track record of facilitating learning and supporting students to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of GPhC standards and foundation training requirements, with the ability to deliver effective teaching, assessment, and programme evaluation.
  • Excellent clinical knowledge with proven ability to apply in practice, ideally supported by an independent prescribing qualification or working towards it.
