The School of Nursing, Public Health and Healthcare Leadership continues to have an ambitious vision for growth, innovative programme development and enhancing student experience. Within our nursing programmes, the school is committed to providing excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences, which enable our nursing and nursing associate students to feel confident and competent to fulfil their registered nurse/registered nursing associate roles. This role is central to meeting this objective. This role offers the opportunity to begin your academic career and contribute to educating Bradford's future nursing staff.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Participate in activity required to develop and maintain excellent practice-based learning environments which support learning for a range of pre-registration, post registration nursing and public health programmes.
  • Be an active member of the practice education team, identifying, auditing, and developing practice learning experiences which facilitate students on NMC approved programmes.
  • Undertake outreach and engagement activities in local communities/with employers and/or at University events.
  • Academic leadership ranging from workstreams, module and/or programme leadership.
  • Delivering teaching, learning and assessment on undergraduate and post-graduate programmes.
  • Work with students as a personal academic tutor and roles aligned to the NMC (2023) standards for student supervision and assessment.
  • Work collaboratively, with team members, the University, students, and other stakeholders to ensure practice education is contemporary, interesting and promotes career aspiration and academic stretch.
  • Undertake scholarship, which furthers your career as an academic, ensuring you maintain professional registration.
  • Undertake appropriate professional development to respond to the changing requirements of the role.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Be an NMC Registered Nurse or Nursing Associate.
  • Hold a degree level qualification.
  • Understand the NMC standards of supervision and assessment (2023) applied to clinical practice.
  • Be a confident communicator, using a range of technology and media.
  • Be passionate about the nursing profession.
