Applied Health Research and Wellbeing Institute of Health and Social Care. Salary: £35,116 to £38,249 per annum pro rata. 0.5 FTE - working pattern to be agreed. Fixed term for four years. What You Will Be Doing

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a large team carrying out a randomised controlled trial into the deimplementation of thickened liquids for people with swallowing difficulties. The role will include:

  • Contributing to the development of data collection materials (such as interview schedules and outcome measures) and applications for ethical approval.
  • Playing a key part in the development of a deimplementation protocol for the trial, including running consultation workshops and developing training materials.
  • Playing a key part in the process evaluation element of the trial, including organising and running focus groups and carrying out individual interviews.
  • Being actively involved in recruiting study sites alongside the Clinical Trials Unit and supporting sites during the trial.
  • Supporting participants with the completion of outcome measures, including participants with a variety of health conditions and communication impairment.

Qualifications/Experience

Essential for the role are:

  • A good first degree e.g. 2:1 or higher in a relevant field, e.g. Allied Health Profession, Psychology, Health or Social Sciences.
  • Experience of conducting research projects.
  • Experience of interviewing research participants.
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with study participants and colleagues.
  • Ability to organise own workload and deliver to deadlines.
  • Able to communicate well at a range of levels and convey information to academic and non-academic audiences.
