We require a confident and responsible individual to champion and ensure the success of the Office for Students (OfS) funded Go Higher West Yorkshire Uni Connect project at the University of Bradford. The Uni Connect outreach programme aims to reduce the gap between the most and least represented groups in terms of progression to Higher Education.
You will work with colleagues from within the University of Bradford and across the Go Higher West Yorkshire partnership to ensure the successful delivery of the project. This will include:
- Arranging and managing events and activities to raise attainment and aspirations.
- Supporting the application and transition of pupils into Higher Education.
- Working with young people aged 13 to 19 and their key influencers (parents, carers, teachers, advisors, or other professionals).
Events may take place at the University of Bradford, at partner institutions, schools/colleges, or community locations across West Yorkshire. You will also support signposting of schools/colleges to existing outreach activity.
Within the Directorate of Outreach, Recruitment and Marketing, we welcome applications from individuals who represent lower-represented categories, including males and BAME staff.
The role is extremely varied and requires applicants to work on a flexible basis, including occasional evenings and weekends as required, and travel to locations across West Yorkshire. This role will involve working in two different schools – one day each per week.
At the University of Bradford, we accept people for who they are regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sex, marital status, ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation, or socio-economic background. In line with the University’s commitment to equality charters, we welcome applications from people identifying with these characteristics. The University has a number of staff networks which provide peer support and safe spaces for staff who hold these and other identities.
