We are now seeking an experienced Legal, Governance & Compliance Manager to act as a trusted guardian of these principles and to play a pivotal role in supporting the University’s leadership and governance framework.
Working within the Registry and reporting to the Assistant Registrar, you will provide expert legal, governance, and compliance advice across the University Group. You will support and, where required, lead on a wide range of matters including student-related issues, contracts, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and committee servicing. You will work closely with senior leaders, Board and committee members, and external advisers, ensuring that legal and governance arrangements are robust, compliant, and aligned with best practice across the Higher Education sector. This is a high-impact role for a confident professional who can balance sound judgement, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach.
Key responsibilities:- Provide high-quality legal advice on contracts, disputes, intellectual property, and legislative compliance
- Interpret and advise on relevant legislation and regulatory guidance
- Support corporate governance activity across the University Group, including oversight of subsidiaries
- Provide company secretarial and committee servicing support where required
- Assist in the development, review, and implementation of governance policies and procedures
- Liaise with external legal advisers and coordinate legal matters as appropriate
- Advise senior leaders and Board members on governance, compliance, and legal risk
- Contribute to audit, risk management, and business continuity arrangements
