Responsibilities
- Take a leading role in delivering an efficient, high‑quality admissions service for undergraduate and postgraduate applicants across home, EU, and international markets.
- Oversee the day‑to‑day work of the Admissions Team, delegating workloads and setting processing targets.
- Ensure applicants receive a professional, timely and supportive admissions experience from initial enquiry through to enrolment.
- Act as the first point of escalation for complex cases, making informed admissions decisions and guiding colleagues through policy interpretation.
- Ensure compliance with UCAS, QAA, UKVI and the University’s Admissions Policy.
- Support the operational delivery of major recruitment periods, including Confirmation and Clearing.
- Contribute to service improvements through data analysis, workflow reviews and process development.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering a sector‑leading admissions experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail and confidence managing people and processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments, using data to support decision‑making.
- Experience with international admissions, UKVI compliance or CAS issuance is particularly beneficial.
Employment and Visa Information
Successful applicants will be required to prove their right to work in the UK prior to the commencement of their employment. Whilst the University of Greater Manchester is a licensed sponsor, under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) not all roles are eligible for visa sponsorship. This position may not meet the criteria for a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS). Eligibility will be assessed in line with the Home Office requirements at the time of making the offer.
