University of Birmingham Enterprise Ltd is seeking a proactive Facilities and Operations Manager to lead site operations, compliance, and customer service for our dynamic community of research companies at Birmingham Research Park.
What you’ll do:
- Work on site, overseeing day-to-day facilities and front-of-house services
- Lead on planned and reactive maintenance services to ensure a safe and efficient environment
- Take accountability for site health, safety, and compliances
- Manage budgets, supplier contracts, and sustainability initiatives
- Deliver exceptional customer experience for tenants and visitors
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in managing teams and facilities operations
- Strong knowledge of compliance, planned maintenance, and risk management
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- IOSH or equivalent (training available)
- IT proficiency and an ability to manage budgets effectively
To be considered for this full-time site-based role, you will need to show us that you can work flexibly within a diverse operational team to deliver a high-quality service to customers. Ideally, you will have previous experience of supporting staff wellbeing and personal development. We will also expect evidence of a range of facilities and maintenance experience, knowledge of the relevant legislative requirements and their application, with the ability to communicate clearly on technical issues, with audiences of other specialists, or non-specialists. It is also important that you are a strong team player with excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to maintain accurate and up to date records.
UoB Enterprise is based in a highly stimulating working entrepreneurial environment located on the vibrant Birmingham Research Park in Edgbaston, Birmingham. The employment package includes a salary in the range of £36,500-42,250 pa, depending on experience, plus a bonus of up to 15% pa (half based on company performance, and half based on individual performance).
