The Digital Marketing Officer will help to co-ordinate the delivery of the University’s marketing campaigns to raise profile and global reputation. This position works with the Deputy Director of Communications and Reputation, the Marketing Manager, and colleagues from across External Relations and the wider University. The successful candidate will bring experience in multi-channel campaign delivery with a strong focus on paid digital advertising, audience segmentation and CRM driven engagement. Experience of LinkedIn campaign management, email journeys, and performance optimisation would be particularly valuable.Department overviewThis role sits within the Campaigns and Brand team, part of the Communications and Reputation Centre of Excellence within External Relations.Role SummaryThe Digital Marketing Officer will support the team in the co-ordination of both traditional and digital campaigns, managing and executing the delivery of appropriate assets, copy and designs and securing all necessary approvals. Working with both internal and external agencies and teams across the University, the post holder will ensure campaigns are launched on time and within budget. They will also monitor campaign performance, using digital marketing data and insights to optimise activity and improve campaign effectiveness.The post holder will enjoy working within a busy, creative and fast-paced team. This role would be suited to someone with experience in running concurrent campaigns who understand how a multi-channel campaign works. The post-holder will have a good understanding of digital marketing targeting techniques, web and paid media. The post-holder will have excellent communication skills and be adept at managing projects in an organised, collaborative way.Main DutiesSupport the planning, coordination and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns that support the University's strategic objectives and enhance the global profile of its researchDeliver multi-channel campaigns across paid social, search, display, email, social media, events and other digital and offline channelsWork with media and digital agencies to plan, implement and optimise paid media activity, ensuring effective audience targeting and strong performance outcomesManage CRM activity including audience segmentation, automated journeys, engagement workflows and lifecycle communicationsMonitor, analyse and report on campaign performance across paid media and CRM channels, using insight to optimise activity and maximise return on investmentProduce clear campaign reports and actionable recommendations for stakeholdersWrite and edit compelling content for a range of channels, including paid advertising, email, social media, landing pages and other campaign assetsSupport content and creative development, producing briefs and ensuring outputs align with audience insight, campaign objectives and brand standardsCoordinate campaign delivery across internal stakeholders, agencies and suppliers, managing timelines, approvals and asset productionMaintain and optimise campaign landing pages and web content through the CMS, applying SEO best practice where appropriateAdminister campaign budgets, including purchase orders, expenditure tracking and financial reportingWork collaboratively with research communications, social media and academic colleagues to ensure integrated delivery, consistent messaging, and compliance with University brand and reputation standardsCore competencies/transferable skillsWorking at this level you will be able to develop and demonstrate the following core competencies/ transferable skills and will be expected to be flexible as required in supporting their department and wider University.
