This internship focuses on understanding which tools and interventions are effective for older adults and minority ethnic populations, with emphasis on addressing health inequalities. Interns will conduct independent research under the supervision of Dr. Jacqueline Thompson and Dr. Onaedo Ilozumba. Expected outputs include a presentation and a short written report, with an opportunity to contribute to a peer‑reviewed publication.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive literature searches across academic and non‑academic databases.
- Co‑facilitate workshops with 4‑8 healthcare professionals and engage patients with respiratory conditions, including minority groups.
- Write a short internship report (~2,500 words).
- Contribute to team‑based research projects through collaboration.

- Third year of study or beyond.
- Studying a priority area or related subject such as medicine, nursing, biomedical science or psychology.
- Interested in public health, health inequalities or digital health.
- Eager to develop research, analytical and communication skills.

- Students may work up to 20 hours per week during term time for a maximum of 13 consecutive weeks.
- Students whose courses do not follow the typical academic timetable must obtain formal agreement for vacation periods if the role exceeds 20 hours per week.
