Apprentice Grade 4, Apprenticeship Standard: Business Administration Level 3. Training Provider: HIT Training. Salary: £22,037 per annum rising to £27,546 after 12 months of service. Responsibilities
- Act as first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders about immigration compliance for staff, providing timely information and advice.
- Ensure right‑to‑work checks are carried out and appropriate action taken within UKVI timeframes and guidelines.
- Communicate relevant information to colleagues and external contacts.
- Provide administrative support for diary or event planning.
- Process data, monitor accuracy, chase missing information and address issues in line with immigration policy.
- Carry out finance reconciliation for UKVI sponsorship costs and meet monthly RBS payment card deadlines.
- Use University systems to research, manipulate, analyse data and produce routine reports.
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders, fielding queries, handling disputes or complaints, and resolving them promptly.
- Offer advice and support to staff on immigration matters.
- Review processes and tasks, propose improvements and share best practice.
- Provide professional secretarial service to committees and meetings as required.
- Treat all persons with dignity and respect in line with equality legislation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Good literacy and numeracy, evidenced by GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) grade 4 or above, or a level 2 qualification.
- Experience with Microsoft Office packages and ability to learn new IT systems.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Self‑organisation and ability to prioritise work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, able to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Experience in customer service and providing excellent support.
- Capacity to cope with change in a fast‑moving, dynamic environment.
- Understanding of equality and diversity and ability to respond to related issues.
