Role Summary

You will contribute to a range of education‑related activities for Advanced Practice (AP) and Non‑Medical Prescribing students, including module leadership, assessment strategies, simulation, and development of practitioner knowledge and skills across the lifespan. Primary responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development, student support, advanced practice collaboration, and knowledge transfer. Deliver excellent teaching informed by discipline‑based research.

Main Duties – Education

  • Contribute to teaching and learning activities.
  • Lead or renew curriculum.
  • Develop and manage best‑practice teaching and learning approaches.
  • Advise others on learning, teaching and assessment.
  • Deliver professional programmes where appropriate.
  • Advance practice in modules and provide student academic support.
  • Inform teaching practice by discipline‑based research.
  • Update subject expertise and undertake professional development.
  • Support recruitment, admit students, co‑supervise doctoral students.
  • Teach and examine students at multiple levels.
  • Plan and review teaching and encourage others.
  • Design inclusive, engaging, academically challenging curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on delivery.
  • Use digital resources effectively.
  • Develop proposals and contribute to teaching programmes.

Person Specification

  • Higher degree in a relevant discipline (usually PhD) or equivalent.
  • Expertise in Advanced Practice and Non‑Medical Prescribing across the lifespan.
  • Valid NMC/HCPC/GPhC Non‑Medical Prescribing or Independent Prescriber licence.
  • Proven ability to design, advise and manage learning.
  • Skills in managing, motivating, mentoring.
  • Experience in knowledge transfer, enterprise and enhancing employability.

DBS Required. All pre‑employment checks, including a satisfactory DBS clearance, will be undertaken before appointment.
