The University of Bedfordshire\’s Academy for Learning and Teaching Excellence was established in 2022. The Academy has a central role in delivering the University\’s Education and Student Experience Strategy and Access and Participation Plan (APP).

The Pre-16 Outreach Team joined The Academy in 2025 and works closely with priority secondary schools across Bedfordshire and delivers on the access and pre-16 Attainment Raising objectives of the APP. We are additionally proud to be partners in the Office for Students’ Uni Connect Programme, a national initiative aimed at increasing access to higher education for underrepresented groups. Since 2017, we have worked collaboratively with the University of Hertfordshire and the University of Northampton to deliver targeted outreach activities that raise aspirations, provide impartial guidance, and help students overcome barriers to progression. Through this partnership, we are committed to creating inclusive opportunities that empower young people to make informed choices about their future.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of our Outreach Team, supporting the delivery of our widening access commitments and making a real difference in the lives of young learners.

In this role, you will work with students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 across schools in Bedfordshire, inspiring and guiding them toward higher education. You will collaborate closely with our dedicated Outreach Coordinators to deliver impactful activities that break down barriers and open doors to opportunity.

This is a fixed-term maternity cover post for 12 months ( hours a week) and will be based across our Luton and Bedford campuses. Travel will be required to schools across the region, for which expenses will be paid.
