The Engineering Maintenance Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering our vision of creating a vibrant, inclusive, and ambitious academic community. As the Engineering Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the University’s engineering systems, plant and building services across all campuses.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day‑to‑day technical leadership and oversee the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance.
- Ensure robust statutory compliance across the estate.
- Act as the University’s principal engineering lead for operational decision‑making, diagnosing complex technical issues and assuring contractor performance.
- Support project delivery through technical review and engineering oversight.
- Combine hands‑on engineering expertise with team management, system optimisation and data‑driven maintenance planning.
- Maintain building performance, resilience, safety and user experience to support teaching, research and professional services.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in the management of third‑party suppliers and contract management.
- Strong commercial skills and a proven track record of ensuring efficient and effective delivery.
- Hands‑on engineering expertise and experience overseeing large engineering systems.
