Teaching Fellow for Online Pre-sessional Courses (Temporary)
We have an exciting opportunity for experienced EAP Teaching Fellows to join the Skills Centre at the University of Bath for our new online pre-sessional English course. The course prepares international students for their degree programs (e.g., MSc Marketing or Finance, January 2026 intake) through academic language and skills development.
You will:
- Join a professional, friendly team of Teaching Fellows and Course Leaders.
- Teach postgraduate students motivated to develop their English language and academic literacy skills.
- Conduct online tutorials, attend staff meetings and standardisation sessions (both in person and online), assess student progress, and undertake administrative and pastoral duties related to teaching online.
A full in-person induction and comprehensive teaching materials will be provided. You will work under the guidance of a Course Leader.
Course Dates:
- 27 – 31 October 2025: Course induction for Teachers.
- 3 November – 5 December 2025: Online Pre-sessional course (5 weeks).
Contract details:
We have two opportunities:
- 10-week contract: 29 September – 5 December. The first 4 weeks focus on materials development and course planning. This role is 1.0 FTE from 29 September – 26 October, reducing to 0.5 FTE from 27 October – 5 December.
- 6-week contract: 27 October – 5 December, at 0.5 FTE.
Both contracts include course planning, materials development, induction days, assessment, and reporting activities, which are paid and require full participation. A pro-rata holiday entitlement is included. Please specify your first and second preferences on your application.
Additional information:
Availability for induction and meetings on campus in Bath is required. During online teaching weeks, remote teaching from any UK location is permitted. For questions, contact Dr. Soo Yim, EAP Course Leader.
