The Department of Economics is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant. In this role you will:

  • assist within a teaching team and work within an established teaching programme under general supervision within the Department of Economics
  • manage and deliver teaching activities and prioritise your own workload within agreed objectives to ensure that all activities are completed to set deadlines
  • assess student progress and provide feedback to students, setting and marking assignments with appropriate supervision
  • build on previous experience and use critical evaluation of professional practice to develop skills and knowledge
  • communicate effectively with the teaching Economics of Digitalisation and Innovation; Experimental Economics.

The department delivers an extensive range of programmes which attracts high quality undergraduate and postgraduate students and is committed to supporting excellence in both research and teaching.

Research activities inform students’ learning and encourage the interaction between academia and the wider society both in terms of policy formulation and outcome evaluation, and knowledge transfer to businesses and public organisations.

Whilst it is expected that teaching will be informed by research/professional expertise, there is no research component to this role.
