Established by Royal Charter in 1966, the University of Bath has, in just under 60 years, built a remarkable reputation for academic and research excellence with outstanding student experience and outcomes to become one of the UK’s leading universities. Bath is consistently ranked within the top ten across all major domestic rankings in 2026, including 7th overall in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide (2026), 8th in both the Guardian University Guide and the Complete University Guide (2026), and 9th in the Daily Mail University Guide (2026).
In our 60th anniversary year, we are looking ahead at the framework and actions we need to enable the University of Bath to thrive in its next chapter. We are working on our Strategy 2036, due to be launched this October, to set the high-level direction for the University over the next ten years. Our strategic priorities will support our University to harness its strengths, explore new horizons and have an even greater positive impact.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) will play a pivotal role in this new chapter as a key member of the University senior team. They will be responsible for developing and delivering a clear and innovative strategy for education and leading the refresh of the curriculum as required to ensure that Bath's offer and approach remain relevant and market-led.
Individuals who bring senior-level education leadership, expertise in setting the strategic direction and overseeing delivery in digital and blended provision, and a track record in developing online initiatives, along with an inspirational leadership style and ability to engage, influence and work effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, are encouraged to apply.
