About the role

The Department of Psychology is recruiting a Senior Lecturer or Reader (depending on experience) to join the DClinPsy programme. This successful candidate will take on the leadership role of Academic Director, provide research supervision, and act as a clinical tutor to students on the programme. This role includes a market supplement in line with the Agenda for Change 8C.

This is a leadership position, reporting to the Co-Programme Directors, and will involve:

  1. Responsibility for timetabling and academic assessments on the DClinPsy Programme.
  2. Liaising with external stakeholders such as NHS England and the BPS.
  3. Overseeing the cohort of students and their progression through clinical psychology training.
  4. Contributing to both specialist and general teaching topics relevant to postgraduate clinical psychology.
  5. Supervising doctoral student research.
  6. Acting as a clinical tutor to trainees.
  7. Guiding and supporting internal and external teaching staff and markers.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide a supportive teaching environment for the programme and wider department.
  • Contribute significantly to the DClinPsy Programme as Academic Director, with relevant management or leadership experience.
  • Be committed to delivering high-quality doctoral research supervision.

Additional information

This role is offered on a part-time (0.8 FTE), open-ended basis. The successful candidate will be appointed as either Senior Lecturer or Reader, depending on experience.
