Are you ready to take on a highly strategic and operationally focused senior leadership role? We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join the University of Bath’s Research and Impact Services as the Deputy Director for Research Performance, Information and Insights. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping and executing the University\\\\\\\’s research strategy.

Our Research and Impact Services (RIS) department supports activities across the research lifecycle from opportunity, application, award, project management, impact, knowledge exchange, reporting outcomes, commercialisation and everything in between. As the Deputy Director for RIS, you’ll be in a key leadership role within the department and right at the heart of enabling this work.

About the role

The Deputy Director for Research Performance, Information and Insights will provide strategic leadership within Research & Impact Services (RIS) and across the University of Bath.

We are looking for an individual who is proactive and has substantial senior-level experience in a research-led institution. You should have strong team management skills, excellent knowledge of higher education research landscape, and a thorough understanding of the REF process. Your experience and interpersonal skills will enable you to influence and collaborate with diverse audiences.

You will have experience in meeting statutory reporting requirements and implementing effective information management systems. Your ability to understand and leverage data to support strategic priorities will be crucial.

Examples of activities that you will be involved in include leading the RIS management of the University Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission, managing evidence for performance, planning, and statutory reporting requirements, and overseeing the development and enhancement of research information provision. You will also be lead the monitoring and evaluation of research impact, as well as for the University\\\\\\\’s Knowledge Exchange portfolio.

You’ll have the chance to lead and motivate highly skilled teams, engage with key internal and external stakeholders, and enhance the University\\\\\\\’s research position and reputation.

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) permanent basis.

The salary for this position is aligned to the Senior Staff pay scale. We anticipate this appointment to be between spine point 53 and spine point 60; £74,144 to £85,168 per annum.
