About the role

Working directly with the Deputy Director (HR Services), this vital and rewarding role provides the perfect opportunity for the next step in your HR career. In this role, you will be helping to build our distinctive, positive and sector-leading employee relations practice that builds great employee experience by fulfilling the University's culture of trust and care for each other. This, in turn, ensures that we deliver our Employee Value Proposition to all our staff.

You will be responsible for providing specialist advice and assistance, and developing, reviewing and improving our employee relations policies, procedures and guidance and the training and development for our line managers so they have the knowledge and skills to manage our employees positively, respectfully and effectively. This responsibility includes the application of the University’s Support & Report Portal and our Resolution Framework, which the University has developed in partnership with the TCM Group. This innovative approach was recognised with an award at the 2024 Business Culture Awards and enables the University to make positive resolution-focused interventions to change future behaviour and develop our culture and employee experience.

You will be joining a talented, encouraging and positive HR Business Partnering and Advisory / Employee Relations team.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, and their practical application, allied to excellent communication, interpersonal, and empathetic skills, and the resilience and drive to continuously innovate and improve all that we do as an HR service.

Further Information

This role is offered on a full-time (36.5 hours per week), permanent basis.
