Are you a proficient and competent project manager, who can manage resources and project outcomes to successful completion? Are you able to manage multiple stakeholders both with, and without, formal authority? Do you have a knack for formulating plans from multiple diverse, and sometimes competing, requirements? Would you relish the opportunity to apply yourself to a novel and innovative research project which addresses key skills development, technical training and staff progression; and will drive these outcomes through joint industry and Higher Education technical collaboration? If your answers are yes, then we are looking for you.
The X-CITED Programme seeks an experienced and successful project manager to co-ordinate and manage its programme of works. This £2M, 44-month programme, which is in its third year, has been funded by EPSRC for the development of Research Technical Professionals (RTPs) across the Universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter (the GW4 alliance). This innovative programme goes beyond a simple staff development programme, focussing specifically on interaction with industry partners, delivering bespoke training events, whilst also testing a model to establish a cohort of trainee RTPs across GW4.
You will work within an enthusiastic team, and be key to coordinating this ambitious regional programme, with stakeholders including 10+ industry partners, other national research alliances, research funders and ~200 regional RTPs. You will be an experienced and demonstrably successful project or programme manager. A can-do attitude, with a dynamic and pragmatic approach to record keeping, project administration, and enabling outcomes (both yours and others) is essential, and we look forward to hearing from you.
About you:
- You will have a degree or postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience and qualifications, demonstrating the ability to work in an intellectually intensive people-oriented transdisciplinary environment.
- You will have experience of budget management and event management, working with a range of interested parties.
- You will have excellent skills in communication, strategic thinking, problem solving, time management and organisation.
- Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to network, manage partnerships and negotiate with various stakeholders effectively.
This is a full time (36.5 hours per week) fixed term role of approximately 15 months.
