We are looking for a confident and organised individual to join our UK Student Recruitment Team as a Student Recruitment Assistant.

About The Role

You will represent the University of Bath at recruitment events in schools, colleges and at large‑scale higher education exhibitions across the UK. You’ll provide information, advice and guidance to prospective students considering higher education, mainly through representing the University at Higher Education Fairs whilst also delivering some talks and sessions on topics such as choosing Bath or making a competitive university application. Alongside in‑person activity, you’ll help coordinate a programme of digital recruitment events such as subject‑specific webinars for prospective students, working with colleagues across the department and wider university to deliver engaging online content. You’ll also support the smooth running of our wider recruitment operations, helping to maintain relationships with targeted schools and colleges and ensuring events, communications and processes run efficiently throughout the year. This is an exciting opportunity to be out on the road representing Bath, helping more students from under‑represented and priority groups to learn about higher education and to see Bath as a place where they can belong and succeed.

About Us

The Student Recruitment and Admissions Department plays a central role in attracting and supporting students from a wide range of backgrounds to apply to the University. This role sits within the UK Student Recruitment Team, which works closely with our Widening Access colleagues to deliver programmes and events across the country and online. Skills and Experience

  • Confident communicator who enjoys meeting new people and is comfortable presenting to groups of young people, parents and teachers.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities, often working independently as the sole representative of the University at events across the UK.
  • Good eye for detail, strong IT skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Experience of student recruitment, outreach or working with young people is an advantage, but enthusiasm, initiative and professionalism are equally important.

Requirements

  • Part‑time role working 29.2 hours (4 days) per week with flexible working arrangements.
  • Extensive travel around the UK is expected with some evening and/or weekend work involving overnight stays, for which time off in lieu is provided.
  • A full UK driving licence is required and you must be willing to travel.
  • A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required.

Benefits

  • Free counselling services through Health Assured
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme
  • Staff discount at Team Bath gym
  • Staff discounts on postgraduate tuition fees
  • Staff discount on language courses
  • Generous employer contributory pension schemes
  • Generous annual leave allowance with an additional 5 discretionary days
  • Wide range of personal and professional development opportunities including Apprenticeships, LinkedIn Learning and more
  • Free entry to the Holburne Museum in Bath
  • Local discounts and more
  • A family‑friendly workplace
  • An excellent reward package that recognises the talents of our diverse workforce
  • Relocation allowance
