The Department of Sports Development and Recreation at the University of Bath manages and organises a range of activities under the University’s sports brand - Team Bath. The Department aspires to create a world leading multi-sport environment providing activities, services and facilities for students, university staff, the local community and high-performance athletes. In addition, we are recognised by UK Sport as one of only six Elite Training Centres, providing the training base for around 250 international level athletes.

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Receptionist to join our team to enable the smooth running of our sports facilities. You will:
- be the first point of contact for all general sports enquiries and will have responsibility for booking and taking payments for facilities, classes, courses, and supporting the Operations team with day-to-day operations.
- play a vital role in supporting the Reception Manager in implementing the access policy and providing excellent customer service as part of our committed and dedicated Reception team.
There are physical elements to the role, including assisting with security incidents and the emergency process when evacuating customers and users safely from the facilities.

You should have:
- experience working with a range of customers and age groups
- excellent interpersonal and customer care skills
- sound IT skills to enable you to deliver high standards of service to our students, staff, public, high performance sports partners and visiting athletes.
Further information
This is a full-time position and you will be required to work an average of 36.5 hours per week over a 3-week rotating rota covering the facility opening hours and business needs between 0545-2230 (weekdays) and 0730-1930 (weekends). Due to the working hours and shift pattern, this role is only suitable for those aged 18 years and over. This role requires a basic DBS check which we would organise for you, and we will support you with all the training you need to thrive in this inspiring environment.
