Are you passionate about shaping global policy and driving research impact? The University of Bath is seeking an International Policy Engagement and Impact Specialist to help accelerate the international impact of our research and tackle global challenges.
About the role
In this pivotal role, you will bring expertise in engaging with and influencing international policy-making. Working within our Research and Impact Services team, you will support researchers to connect with key decision-makers, develop strategic engagement plans, and translate research insights into meaningful policy impact worldwide.
What you’ll do:
- Identify and engage international policymakers, think tanks, NGOs, and other key stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice and hands-on support to researchers on policy engagement strategies.
- Horizon scan for global policy opportunities and help shape impactful engagement activities.
- Co-develop tailored communications for policy audiences, including briefs, blogs, and presentations.
- Track and report on policy engagement activities and help collect and evaluate impact evidence.
- Support researchers to evidence policy influence and contribution to impact case studies.
- Contribute to building capacity across the University for effective policy engagement.
What we’re looking for:
- Degree-level education (or equivalent professional experience).
- Proven experience in public policy engagement, ideally at international level.
- Strong track record of building strategic partnerships with senior policy professionals.
- Ability to translate research into policy-relevant outputs and evidence impact.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in higher education, knowledge exchange, and familiarity with the Research Excellence Framework (REF) is highly desirable.
